As many of you know, my company sells e-business applications all over the world. Many times we found customers that, in addition to an e-business application, they need a hosting service. Here is my practical guide to choose a reliable hosting company. I’ve to admit that, since using these techniques, we never have a problem with any of the hosting companies that we resell.

On the “Information Super Highway”, search engines are like traffic directors that direct potential customers to your web site. However, for the travelers to reach their destination, or your website, it is essential that you supply them with specific and effective signs that will direct them straight to your site. This is achieved by creating carefully chosen keywords.
It’s somewhat like a secret code to the Internet. Choose the precise words or phrases, and “vwah-lah“ (voila)! Like magic, tons of internet travelers will be making a stop at your address. However if your keywords are too broad, vague, or just worn out from over use, the possibility of having lots of visitors make it all the way to your site - or of actually realizing any substantial profit - decrease dramatically.

You can hardly move on the Internet these days without tripping over someone’s blog. But what is a blog for and how does it fit into your business? Why is blogging so important for a business?
The emergence of blogging as a business tool is down to Google. Had they not appeared on the search scene and revolutionised the Internet we would not be seeing blogs enter the e-business toolkit. If you can conceive of an Internet in pre-Google days, search engines were floundering; they were slow and often returning irrelevant results. There was a general opinion that search was dead – it wasn’t very effective and no one was making any money from it. The Google-boys changed all that with their mission to organise the world’s information and make it easily accessible1.

So why not watch some videos instead of reading a guide 60 pages long?
Moreover, studies have revealed that humans learn 70% of the content through video. While you only get around 30% of what you read from an easy-to-digest book. That means you need to re-read to book at least 3-4 times over again to digest all of the information provided on the book. While you just need to watch a video twice to fully understand its content.
